Coleg Gwent students are celebrating this year’s A-level results day (Thursday 19 August) after achieving another set of fantastic results.
Earlier this year, more than 320 students from across Gwent sat nearly 900 A-level examinations, and figures just out reveal an overall pass rate of 95.74%.
The overall pass rate at the College’s Crosskeys Campus, which is where the majority of A-level students are based, is even higher at 97.13%.
In addition, 10 students notched up a full sweep of four A*/A grades, and 11 students achieved a trio of A*/A grades. 31 students achieved at least one of the new A* grades.
Students receiving results at Pontypool Campus achieved an overall pass rate of 100%.
At City of Newport Campus there were 14 grade A/A* grades achieved by students.
Delighted with today’s outcome, Vice Principal Guy Lacey said: “Both staff and students should be extremely proud of themselves. These results, along with our excellent vocational results, are a superb testimony to the hard work and commitment of everyone at the College. All these students have a fantastic future ahead of them and we wish them all the very best of luck as they take up their next challenge.”
