The University of Wales Lampeter has been ranked joint second in Wales for student satisfaction, according to results of this year’s as they prepare to form Wales’ newest university.
The National Student Survey survey by the Higher Education Funding Council for England on behalf of the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales asks final year undergraduates to rate the quality of the teaching they receive; the quality of feedback and support available; the IT and library facilities, and overall satisfaction with their degree course.
The survey, now in its fifth year, shows prospective students how real students rate their courses to help them decide where to study.
Lampeter bucked the national trend – which has seen average satisfaction drop from 82% to 81% – with a 2% rise in satisfaction with courses to 87%.
Dr Medwin Hughes, Vice Chancellor at University of Wales Lampeter, said: “We are very pleased with the results, which demonstrate that Lampeter continues to be one of the UK’s top universities.
“We have recently announced that we will be merging with Trinity University College Carmarthen to create a new university, the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, and these results provide an excellent foundation for us to build on. The new university will enable us to provide a better education and experience for our students.”
