A 23-year-old Llanrwst man yesterday pleaded guilty to dangerous driving after being stopped as part of North Wales Police’s Deadly Mates campaign.
John Carwyn Evans was seen driving a Mitsubishi Evolution in a dangerous manner along the A470 between Glan Conwy and Llanrwst at 9:30pm on the 15 August last year.
The vehicle was observed to be driven at speeds of up to 110 mph.
Evans was reported for summons for dangerous driving and today, May 4, he appeared at Llandudno Magistrates Court where he pleaded guilty to the offence. He was convicted and ordered to pay a fine of £800 with £100 CPS costs. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and must take an extended re test.
Inspector Peter Nicholson of the Western Roads Policing unit welcomed the court’s decision, stating : “This shows the efforts North Wales Police are making to make the roads safer and that the force will not tolerate driving in this manner.”
