There’s fun for all the family at Parc Penallta between 4 and 8 August, with Sultan’s Summer Sessions, a week of brilliant games, crafts and sports.
The week will give families the exciting opportunity to get to know the bugs and critters that live within the park, make some fantastic bird boxes and lanterns as well as playing some brilliant games and exploring the fantastic Parc Penallta. There’s something for everybody so why not pop along for some sensational summer fun…
Monday
- Penallta games – come along and test your teamwork on the crocodile skis, try your hand at bee darts and enjoy a round of bat skittles. 10am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 4pm, £1.50 per child
Tuesday
- Lantern making – get creative with colours and have a go at making your own lantern. 10am to 12.30pm, £3 per lantern
- Kite making – a great opportunity to design your own kite, and fly it in the majestic skies of Parc Penallta. 1.30pm to 4pm, £1.50 per lantern
Wednesday
- Free archery taster sessions – join the Caerphilly Adventure Group to put your bow and arrow skills to the test. 1.30pm to 4pm, free
- Evening walk – join the rangers for a gentle evening walk, searching for bats, bugs and beasties as you go. 7.30pm to 10pm, £1.50 per person
Thursday
- Pond safari – explore the hidden depths of Parc Penallta pond and discover the incredible creatures that live there, afterwards make your own pond creature hat. 10am to 12.30pm, £1.50 per child
- Bird box making – make your own bird box, a brilliant addition to any garden. 1.30pm to 4pm, £3 per bird box
Friday
- Eco art – get creative with a whole load of environmentally friendly art ideas. 10am to 12.30pm, £1.50 per child
- Bug bonanza – hunt for bugs, bees and butterflies in the meadows of Parc Penallta and make your own fluffy bumblebee to take home. 1.30pm to 4pm, £1.50 per child
