Residents and businesses in Abergele will receive an early Christmas present this year in the shape of superfast broadband.
Clwyd West AM Darren Millar has received an email from BT this week informing him that the Abergele exchange will start to see superfast broadband service from December.
Once the fibre cabinets have been enabled, homes and businesses in the locality will be able to access broadband speeds up to three times faster than the UK average.
Darren said:
“This is tremendous news for the people of Abergele. I am delighted that homes and businesses in the town will soon be able to enjoy the benefits that faster broadband can bring. More than ever, high speed communications are crucial in the fast-moving and changing world that we work and live in so I look forward to the benefits this improved broadband will bring to my constituents.”
The largest partnership of its kind in the UK, Superfast Cymru is working towards the Welsh Government’s target to extend fast fibre broadband to 96 per cent of premises in Wales by 2016.
