According to general manager Kenny Kempster, it promises to be a family fun-packed launch for sequel to original film about the Marvel comics characters with competitions, face painting and a super-hero quiz.

The Odeon will be raising money for the Costa Foundation, an independent charity that aims to relieve poverty in coffee-growing communities and improve the life chances of boys and girls by providing them with the opportunity for a good education.

Kenny said: “Both Odeon and Costa Coffee staff are going to be dressing up as their own personal super-hero and we are offering four cinema tickets to the best dressed cinema-goer who comes to a screening of Avengers: Age of Ultron dressed as a super-hero.

“With Costa Coffee staff joining in the fun and raising funds for the Costa Foundation by asking for donations for superhero face painting it’s going to be a really fun family event.”

He added: “Avengers: Age of Ultron is the latest eagerly awaited Marvel super-hero sequel and I expect it to be one of the biggest hits of the year. We have enjoyed a fantastic year, one of our busiest ever, here at the Odeon, Eagles Meadow.

“Avengers: Age of Ultron, which has a 12a rating, will attract families and adults who grew up enjoying Marvel comics. Fans can expect to see The Hulk, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch and all the other Marvel favourites. We have found there are so many fans of all ages of all the Marvel films.

“Avengers: Age of Ultron is certainly all action. In an experiment that goes wrong Ultron, a robot crammed full of artificial intelligence, tries to wipe out the human population on earth and it’s down to the Avengers to stop him.

“We will be showing the film from Thursday and if pre-booking is anything to go by we are going to have full theatres so my advice would be to book as early as you can to avoid disappointment.”

Costa Coffee manager Carl Hughes says he and his staff are looking forward to creating a fun-filled family atmosphere for the launch of Avengers: Age of Ultron.

He said: “It’s going to be a lot of fun. We want to raise as much as we can for The Costa Foundation which aims to improve the lives of people in coffee growing countries around the world.

“Foundation schools deliver both academic and extracurricular programmes that enhance health, gender equality and environmental awareness.

“We are running the event over four days starting on Thursday and ending at close of business on Sunday.

“The majority of children love comic super-heroes and I’ve no doubt we are going to have some fun. I’m haven’t quite decided what costume I am going to wear yet, possibly I’ll be Captain America.”

Costa barista Christine Farquhar is dressing as Superwoman for the event and says she enjoys having fun with families and young children.

She said: “All the staff are getting behind the idea and we are all dressing up. I chose Superwoman but other staff members are dressing up as Cat Woman, Spiderman and The Hulk.

“It’s going to be a really fun weekend and if we can raise some money for The Costa Foundation then that has to be a god thing. I’m already practising face painting my best super-hero faces!”

Costa barista maestro Gareth Hopkins added: “I’m probably going to dress as The Thing from Marvel’s Fantastic Four film of a few years ago. It’s a great way to have some family fun while raising money for such a good cause.”
