South Wales Police are continuing to investigate a suspicious incident which occurred at Talbot Green at around 4.00pm on Monday May 16th when three girls, two aged ten and one eight year old, were called at from a car asking if they wanted a lift and they refused. The car drove off. The vehicle involved was silver in colour and with tinted windows.
Following this appeal a number of calls have subsequently been received by police officers reporting other similar suspicious incidents.
While these calls have been well intentioned a number of them have already been fully investigated and have been unfounded.
Detective Inspector Andy Jones said: “We are grateful to the public for their vigilance and we will investigate every incident that is reported to us.
“However, we ask that callers are certain of the events before they contact us and give us as much information as possible.”
Superintendent Dawn Hubbard said: “There have been a number of rumours circulating about abductions and attempted abductions in the area as well as in Bridgend and Port Talbot. I want to reassure the public and parents and children in particular that no such incidents have taken place.“
