Svengali, a hit Internet comedy series looks like it’s about to go mainstream. The pilot series starring Jonathan Owen as Dixie, a poor-man’s Simon Cowell has already become an Internet smash and there are runours that it is about to be pickeded up but a mainstream TV channel.
The plot involves Dixie, trying to promote his band, The Premature Congratulations, by harassing the man behind Oasis – Alan McGee the head of Creation records. McGee even makes a cameo appearance in one of the episodes.
The series from the writer and director team who brought you Dose and Wedding Belles, stars Jonathan Owen and Roger Evans. It is written by Dean Cavanagh and directed by Philip John and produced by independent label Burn After Listening.
