A World Athletics Championship finalist will do battle with two British Lions for the right to be named Swansea’s Sportsman of the Year this week.
The Active Swansea Sport Awards winners will be revealed at a special ceremony at the Brangwyn Hall on Friday November 20.
Among those shortlisted are top Welsh athlete David Greene along with Welsh rugby stars Alun Wyn Jones and Leigh Halfpenny.
Promising badminton star Daniel Van Hooijdonk is one of the names on the shortlist for the junior male award.
In the running for the Team of the Year award are South Gower AFC, Swansea Harriers and Swansea City women’s team.
Emma Beames, Swansea Council’s Senior Community Sports Development Officer, said: “The Active Swansea Sports Awards present a special opportunity to recognise the accomplishments of Swansea’s athletes, coaches and volunteers. The awards evening promises to be a great occasion.”
