Swimmers across Flintshire are being encouraged to enter this year’s Swimathon event in Flintshire, which will take place on Sunday 10 April at Mold Leisure Centre.
Swimathon 2011 is a national sponsored swimming event and events are happening at swimming pools across the UK between 8 and 10 April 2011.
This year’s charity is Marie Curie Cancer Research.
Each swimmer will have a maximum of two hours to complete their swim and can choose from a selection of distances – the individual challenges are 1.5k, 2.5k or the ultimate 5k. Alternatively, groups can take part in the Team 5k challenge.
At the Mold Leisure Centre pool, there will be two Swimathon sessions on Sunday 10 April. There is one from 11am to 1pm, or one from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.
Swimmers taking part in Swimathon 2010 at Mold Leisure Centre’s pool raised over £4000 and organisers are keen to beat that total this year.
