Hailed as the new King of Swing, Leeds based Gary Grace is taking theatres by storm with his simply titled ‘Tribute to the Kings of Swing’ show.
For those of a certain age Gary is clearly fitting a void in the theatre programme. His renditions of songs first made famous by Sinatra, Dean Martin, Matt Monro, Tony Bennett and more recently Michael Buble have made him quite the idol. His mellifluous voice and smooth, mature, good lucks seem to tick all the right boxes for both sexes who were fans of swing the first time round. Gary will never take hold of the music charts like Buble has, but as long as he is packing audiences into provincial theatres around the country, he is really not concerned.
Gary, his Swing Kings trio and his show ‘A Tribute to the Kings of Swing’ can be seen at The Congress Theatre, Cwmbran on Friday 25 November.
