The Taf Trail cycle and walking route has been listed as one of the top ten best summer trips according to National Geographic.
Parts of route eight of the network, which runs from Cardiff Bay to Brecon, were highlighted in relation to our capital city Cardiff being one of the top destinations to visit this summer.
The Taf Trail runs through the whole of Rhondda Cynon Taf and showcases the amazing scenery that the County Borough has to offer along with the famous Ynysangharad War Memorial Park, Pontypridd. The route stretches 55 miles and is a real treat for cycling and walking enthusiasts.
There are various attractions along the route to keep you entertained, including pubs and guest houses, so why not leave the car at home and stop off along the way.
Councillor Robert Bevan, Cabinet Member for Culture, Recreation and Tourism, said: “I was delighted to see the Taf Trail listed in such a prestigious magazine as one of the top ten things to experience this summer. Although the article largely highlights our capital city Cardiff im sure anyone who has experienced the Taf Trail will agree that the whole route deserves to be included.
“The Council in partnership with Sustrans has continually invested in these routes and will continue to do so, to ensure that there are various sustainable transport options available for visitors and residents. The routes are more popular than ever and it is great to see that they have been recognised in this way.”
