Tales of Neyland

Do you have any stories about Neyland and the surrounding area, which you would like to be included in a new collection entitled ‘Tales of Neyland’?

A series of workshops are to be held in the town where members of the local community can come and talk about their memories, anecdotes, family stories, poems or local legends.

The project is part of a Rite of Passage Community Arts festival, which this year has a theme of ‘Migration: Echoes and Traces’.

The first two workshops will be held at Neyland Library on Tuesday, 31st August and Tuesday, 7th September from 10.30am to 4pm.

They will be hosted by Christine Willison, Arts Officer for Pembrokeshire County Council, and storyteller.

Further workshops will be held every Tuesday until October 26th, with locations to be confirmed. All sessions are free, open to all ages, and no experience is required.

There will also be sessions in school with students, in youth clubs and other clubs and societies. People who are housebound can make arrangements with Christine for a home visit.

There will be a reading by volunteer contributors on Wednesday October 27th and it is anticipated that the contributions will be published in an anthology of local people’s ‘Tales of Neyland’.
