Angle RNLI lifeboat station opens its doors to the public for the first time in two years on Bank Holiday Sunday, May 30th, and the star attraction will be its new Tamar class all-weather lifeboat.
The station’s open day runs from 2pm to 5pm, with the chance to not only tour the £2.7 million lifeboat Mark Mason, but also meet the volunteer crew members. Also on display, and a vital part of the station’s lifesaving role, will be its D-class inshore lifeboat, Richard John Talbot Hillier. A special guest at the event will be the RNLI mascot Stormy Sam, a firm favourite with children.
Visitors will be able to tour the station, with many reminders of its long and proud history dating back to 1868, when the first lifeboat Katherine, a 10-oared self-righter, went into service.
In the crew room, with its breathtaking views over the Milford Haven Waterway, there will be RNLI souvenirs on sale, as well as refreshments and the chance to win prizes in a raffle competition.
