There’s an Estupendo couple of days in store at the National Botanic Garden when Tapas Weekend brings a taste of Spain to Carmarthenshire on Saturday August 30 and Sunday August 31.
Fabulous flavours will abound with a special ‘Tapas’ menu in the Garden’s restaurant, stalls selling sangria, Estrella, cured ham, cheese, chorizo and churros, and cookery demos offering tips on making your own Tapas.
To help the weekend go with a swing, there will be flamenco dancing, Spanish guitars and Iberia-infused zumba sessions.
The Garden is also delighted to welcome the Veritas Academy, who will be focusing on Spanish language and culture – aimed at the three-to-12-year-old visitors – through the medium of games, dance, music and dressing up.
To back up the Garden’s something-for-everyone credentials, there are also pond-dipping sessions (on Saturday) and a Big Bug Hunt (on the Sunday) plus Meirion Owen’s world-famous Quack Pack (both days).
So, this year, if you are not off to sunny Spain: Hey! Viva the Garden.
All the Tapas Weekend activities are free with normal admission into the Garden, which is £8.50 adult, £7 OAPs, £4.50 Child (5-16) and under 5s are free. A family ticket (two adults and up to four children) is just £21.
