An informal gathering where teachers can share their experiences and challenges with other teachers will take place in Cardiff next week.
TeachMeet Cardiff will be held at Whitchurch High School on Thursday February 10 (5.30pm to 8.30pm) to give teachers from across the city and beyond the opportunity to meet new people, chat and exchange ideas on a variety of issues and topics.
Anyone curious about teaching and technology is encouraged to attend to showcase ideas they have trialled in the classroom, ask important questions and share best practice with teaching colleagues. Primary and secondary school teachers are welcome to attend. Teachers are welcome to give seven minute micro presentations, two minute nano presentations or lead a conversation to get their message across. The National Grid for Learning Cymru will be streaming the TeachMeet Live at http://www.livestream.com/ngflcymrugcad
Executive Member for Education and Lifelong Learning, Cllr Freda Salway, said:
“The TeachMeet in Cardiff is an excellent opportunity for teachers in the area to get together and talk about what works in their own classroom or school and to be inspired to take these new ways of working back to their own classrooms. The event is organised by teachers for teachers and everyone who attends is welcome to participate and share their ideas.
“The concept of TeachMeets is also essential in supporting teachers to continue their professional development and that in turn will mean better educational provision and opportunities for children and young people.”
