Teenagers and Alcohol Awareness event

A ‘Teenagers and Alcohol Awareness’ session – focussing on the impact of alcohol on health and Anti Social Behaviour – took place recently in Church Street, Flint.

The session was organised by the Flintshire Youth Justice Service and Young Person’s Drugs and Alcohol Team, with the support of Flint Communities First and the Flintshire Community Safety Partnership. It was an open event and took place on the street, using the Young Person Drug and Alcohol Team’s interactive bus, ‘Y Ddraig Nos’ (The Night Dragon).

It’s part of a rolling ‘open’ programme of awareness sessions providing education and support to parents and carers of teenagers within the county. Parents and carers who take part in the session are given a ‘freebie’ bag that provides them with further information as well as where to get further support services.

Funding for the sessions is provided by Flintshire Community Safety Partnership’s Joint Action Group (JAG).

Similar sessions are also planned for Connah’s Quay, Holywell, Mold and Saltney.
