Tell Us Once initiative launched

A brand new initiative designed to make things easier for customers by allowing them to inform central and local government only once when a loved one passes away has been launched in Denbighshire.

Tell Us Once, administered by Denbighshire County Council, is a nationwide project led by the Department of Work and Pensions. The service was designed around customers and pilots have proved that it makes it easier, quicker and cheaper for both the customer and government to register a change of circumstance.

Tell Us Once will be provided by the county’s Registrars as part of the existing death registration service.  Depending on the customers circumstances there are a number of departments that can be notified within Denbighshire County Council and other government organisations such as the Department of Work and Pensions, HMRC and the DVLA.

Initially the service provided in Denbighshire will be for death notifications only, with a birth service being offered in 2012.
