Work is due to begin on Sunday (24th October) planing and resurfacing the Horsefair roundabout in Haverfordwest.
The work – which is expected to last four days – has been scheduled during the half-term school holiday in order to minimise disruption.
Pembrokeshire County Council Cabinet Member for Highways, Councillor Jamie Adams, said: “This is necessary work in order to maintain the highway infrastructure. Inevitably there will be traffic delays and we apologise for that. Unfortunately there are sound technical reasons why the work cannot be carried out at night.”
He added that the work also had implications for certain bus services using the bus stop off the roundabout near Tesco.
The following bus services have changed to their schedules.
301 Town
Unable to serve Augustine Way, Hammond Avenue, Horsefair, Merlins Hill, Milford Road or Scarrowscant. Will instead operate via Shipman’s Lane (instead of Merlin’s Hill and Augustine Way) and Portfield via Snowdrop Lane (instead of Scarrowscant, Horsefair, Milford Road.)
302 Milford to Haverfordwest
Unable to run through town southbound so the service will call at the bus station in Haverfordwest then use Freeman’s Way to Merlins Bridge. Inbound buses are not affected so passengers at Horsefair can catch the 302 bus into town first and transfer onto the outbound 302 at bus station. This will add to the journey time. Alternatively the closest stop to Horsefair is Merlins Bridge.
308 Hook/Llangwm to Haverfordwest and 349 Tenby – Pembroke – Haverfordwest
