A series of temporary road closures will be in place in Swansea this weekend to accommodate the Race for Life.
The annual event, which sees thousands of women across the UK running to raise money for breast cancer research, starts from outside the National Waterfront Museum at 10am on Sunday (July 24). It’s likely to go on until about noon.
The following roads will be closed on a rolling basis between 9.30 am and 11.30 am:
- East Burrows Road – both directions.
- The A4067 Victoria Road/Oystermouth Road westbound from its junction with Princess Way to its junction with Guildhall Road South.
- Trawler Road from the Charles Church Development to the roundabout towards Trafalgar Bridge.
- Princess Way – no right turn westbound from its junction with St David’s Place to its junction with Victoria Road. Vehicles will be diverted around the roundabout and back up Princess Way and Caer Street.
- West Way – No right turn westbound from its junction with Oystermouth Road.
Access to the following roads will be restricted while the race is passing:
- Albert Row – left turn only with no right turn.
- Dunvant Place – no access onto Oystermouth Road while the race is taking place.
- Civic Centre west car park – no access onto Oystermouth Road while the race is taking place.
Vehicles requiring access to Mumbles Road from Quay Parade and vice versa will be diverted via the following roads: Princess Way, Caer Street, The Kingsway, St Helen’s Road and Guildhall Road South.
