Tenby’s all-weather lifeboat assists fishing vessel

Tenby’s all-weather relief Tamar class lifeboat Frank and Anne Wilkinson launched for the last time in 2011 at 11.50am on the 30th December. The lifeboat was tasked by Milford Haven Coastguard to assist a 9 metre fishing vessel with engine failure off Lydstep Head 3.5 miles to the west of Tenby.

The three crew of the fishing vessel had anchored to prevent them drifting further out to sea. Once on scene the volunteer lifeboat crew secured a tow and the vessel was taken to Saundersfoot and secured on a moorings. The lifeboat then returned to station.
