Brave recruits will test their tootsies for the RNLI this Halloween by taking part in a charity fire walk on Saturday 30 October. RNLI supporters will take part in this testing challenge in front of friends and family to help raise vital funds for Rhyl Lifeboat Station this winter.
Rhyl lifeboat station will be open from 1pm with spooky fun and games for all the family, which include: pumpkin carving, pin the wart on the witch, pumpkin races, bobbing apples and prizes for the best fancy dress. Pumpkins are also being donated to local schools to encourage the children to get creative throughout half term. Pupils can bring their carved artwork along on the day and enter them in the best carved pumpkin competition with prizes to be won for all ages.
Wales and the West RNLI Events Manager, Charlotte Bird said:
‘This is going to be a great event where people can show how brave they can be. Our lifeboat crews show their bravery day in, day out, so to help them continue that good work, we ask RNLI supporters to take part and help fund our cause. It costs nearly £140 million to keep the RNLI’s service going for a year – over £405,000 each day’
Charlotte continues:
‘This event will be a chance for people to walk bare foot on fire in a safe and controlled environment, and to show their support for the charity that saves lives at sea. This could be an individual challenge, a family challenge or a work place challenge. Mind over matter and all for a good cause.’
Registration is £25 and there are still spaces left for people to take part in this unique event. Supporters can register on-line today by visiting www.rnli.org.uk/events.
