An indoor football tournament in memory of David Furness, a former member of staff at Caerphilly Leisure Centre, will be held next month.
The Dave Furness Memorial Cup has been organised by Sport Caerphilly CB in partnership with Gwent Police and Caerphilly and St Cenydd Leisure Centres. The competition will pay a tribute to Mr Furness, who died in a tragic motorcycle accident in October, aged just 34.
The 6-a-side tournament will run during the second and third week of December, with the play offs taking place at St Cenydd Leisure Centre on the weekend of the 12th-13th from 10am-1pm, and the final at Caerphilly Leisure Centre on Saturday the 19th from 9.30am to 1pm.
The tournament is open to young people aged15-18 and the price to enter is £1 per person. Each team must consist of a minimum of seven and maximum of 10 players.
The deadline for entering the competition is Friday 4th December. Once the deadline has passed, each team will be contacted with details on which play-off day they are required to attend, along with a full list of the fixtures and rules for the tournament.
