Audiences have rated BBC Cymru Wales’ new landmark series The Story of Wales more highly than any other BBC TV series this year.
In an appreciation measure used by the BBC, The Story of Wales, presented by Huw Edwards, scored top marks so far in 2012. Taking the whole of 2011 into account too, The Story of Wales audiences say they have enjoyed it more than any series across the BBC network, excepting only Frozen Planet.
Made by Green Bay Media for BBC Cymru Wales in conjunction with The Open University in Wales, the series has followed Wales’ history from more than 30,000 years ago to the mid 19th century. The remaining two episodes, to be screened on Monday, March 19 and 26, bring the story up to the present day.

John Geraint and The Story of Wales’ director of photography Mike Harrison will be talking about the series at a Royal Televison Society forum on Monday, March 19, at Cardiff School of Journalism, Bute Building, Cathays Park, Cardiff, from 7pm.
