The Wales Book of the Year Award Ceremony will relocate to Caernarfon in 2014, it has been announced this week. On Thursday 10 July at the spectacular Galeri Caernarfon building,
Ye will have a chance to discover which titles on the Welsh and English-language Short Lists will be named Wales Book of the Year 2014.
At the Ceremony the winners of the Poetry, Fiction and Creative Non-Fiction categories will be announced, as well as the winners of the overall Welsh and English-language 2014 Wales Book of the Year Awards.
Each category winner will receive a cheque for £2,000, and the main award-winner will receive an additional £6,000. The winner of the English-language poetry category will be named the Roland Mathias Poetry Award winner.
On the English-language judging panel this year are the lecturer Andrew Webb; journalist and author Jasper Rees; and the comedienne Nadia Kamil. Judging the 2014 Welsh-language books are the writer Gareth Miles; poet Eurig Salisbury; and writer and blogger Lowri Cooke.
A Short List of nine titles in each language will be announced via an online broadcast on Friday 9 May, and will be available to view live on the Wales Book of the Year Website www.walesbookoftheyear.co.uk
