Police in Flintshire believe a spate of car battery and copper wire thefts over the past seven days were carried out by thieves from outside the area.
Up to 30 scrap batteries were taken from locations in Flint and Gronant along the A548 Coast Road, while several thousand pounds worth of copper wire was stolen from the Aber Park industrial estate.
Inspector Dave Roome said: “We are stepping up patrols in targeted locations and at vulnerable sites in marked and unmarked cars. Our forensic team is also involved, but we would ask anyone who saw, or sees, any suspicious activity at scrap sites and industrial parks in the area to call us on 101.”
