Thousands Enjoy RCT Celebrations

More than 15,000 people attended the town centre Christmas events organised by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, making it one of the busiest festive seasons for many years.

Reindeer Parades, Christmas Markets, Lantern Parades, Festive Funfair and Santa’s Grotto were among the attractions in nine Rhondda Cynon Taf towns throughout November and December.

Festive fun and frolics was had by all at Tonypandy, Aberdare, Treorchy, Porth, Tonyrefail, Pontypridd, Mountain Ash, Ferndale and Llantrisant.

Cllr Maureen Webber, Cabinet Member for Community Engagement and Council Business, said: “Our official figures show that more than 15,000 people attended these events, making them an incredible success.

“It proves that community spirit is alive and well in the locality and Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is proud to bring people together at this special time of year.”

“It was great to see so many people coming out and joining in the festive fun that had been organised by the Council’s Events Team.”
