Thousands more people could soon be enjoying the benefits of Rhondda Cynon Taf’s Leisure scheme – the ‘more card’ – after the Council teamed up with local employers.
The ‘more card’ can be used at any of Rhondda Cynon Taf’s 11 leisure centres and swimming pools, saving the card-holder money whenever they use facilities such as the gym or sports courts.
Now the Council’s Leisure Services department is offering these benefits to other employers in the area, whose staff are signing up to join the corporate ‘more card’ scheme.
Cwm Taf Health Board, which has around 7,000 employees, and Nantgarw-based GE Aviation, which has around 1,000 staff, are in the process of joining the scheme. Employees’ partners are also eligible to sign up. The Council is also in talks with other large employers in the area who are interested in joining.
Cllr Robert Bevan, Rhondda Cynon Taf Cabinet Member for Culture and Recreation, said: “We are delighted that hundreds more people are taking advantage of our corporate ‘more card’ scheme. It will offer unlimited access to a wide range of activities at our leisure centres and pools across Rhondda Cynon Taf and save people money, so they can see the benefits of joining immediately.”
