One man and two women have been charged following an assault in Aberdare on Friday evening which has left a 15 year old youth in hospital with serious head injuries.
Daniel Carter, aged 25, from Edward Street, Ferndale; Danielle Louise Parker, aged 25, from Long Row, Ferndale and Sophie Enoch, aged 22, from Seymour Street, Aberdare have all been charged with grievously bodily harm with intent.
Officers were called around 11pm on Friday night by a member of the public saying there had been an assault outside the Cambrian Inn and a man had been injured.
Police and ambulance were called to the scene and an 15 year old youth was found with head wounds. He was initially taken to Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil before being transferred to University Hospital Wales, Cardiff, where he underwent surgery for a serious head injury where he remains in a serious condition.
The family of the victim is being supported by Police Family Liaison Officers who have been with the family throughout the investigation and will keep in touch with the victim’s family throughout the court process.
The three people charged have been remanded in custody and are due to appear before Merthyr Magistrates Court this morning (Tuesday 29th July).
