Tintern Station Secures Green Flag for Fourth Year Running

A Monmouthshire County Council owned tourist attraction has secured a Green Flag for the 4th year running. The coveted tourism standard is awarded to destinations that The Green Flag Award® Scheme recognises as the best green spaces in the country. Tintern Station in the Wye Valley has been owned by the council since 1974. It offers a range of attractions, including walks, railway memorabilia, sculptures of characters from Welsh History and a tea shop recognised by Country Living magazine as one of the top 20 in the UK. The flag will be awarded at a ceremony at the Royal Welsh agricultural show at Llanelwedd on 23rd July.

John Sterry, Site Manager said:

“I’m really proud that Tintern Station has received another Green Flag. The station is one of Monmouthshire’s gems – set in gorgeous countryside and with some of the best cakes in the UK. I would like to congratulate the team and thank them for their hard work in keeping up the station’s high standards.”
