Fans of comedy have the chance to catch one of the most exciting stand-up acts to emerge in recent years when Elis James appears at Blackwood Miners’ Institute on Friday 27 April.
Elis wowed audiences at the ‘Stute in 2011 with his show Daytripper and has now won critical praise and a legion of new fans following his smash-hit, sell-out new show Do You Remember the First Time? at last year’s Edinburgh Festival. So much so, that the bilingual Welshman has taken the show on the road!
Bringing his hilarious, freewheeling storytelling to the ‘Stute, Elis’ candid, expertly timed anecdotes will be sure to delight. Charting a series of first times, Elis weaves his audience through a chance encounter with a celebrity, an accident at a wedding and the good old-fashioned drunkenness of others, something more than a few of us can relate to.
Having performed internationally, supported fellow Welsh export Rhod Gilbert on tour and established a long list of credits including 8 Out 10 Cats, The Rob Brydon Show, Russell Howard’s Good News and Dave’s One Night Stand, Elis James has cemented himself as one of comedy’s brightest young stars.Elis James is at Blackwood Miners’ Institute on Friday 27 April at 8pm.
Tickets cost just £12.00 and are available from the box office on 01495 227206 or online at www.blackwoodminersinstitute.com
