Welsh Conservatives have welcomed the Assembly Government’s announcement of nearly £1m in funding to provide new mobile breast screening units in Wales.
Commenting on the announcement, Shadow Health Minister Andrew RT Davies AM said: “I welcome this funding, which will provide significant improvements to Breast Test Wales’ ageing fleet.
“More importantly, it will be easier for disabled and elderly women to access these vital services, something which has been problematic in the past.
“We all know that it can be challenging for people in rural areas to access vital health services and this can have a profound effect on people’s health and well being.
“Improved access to cancer screening services, such as these, will undoubtedly prove valuable in improving diagnosis and patient outcome levels.”
