Churches will learn how they can help people trace their ancestry and how they can get involved in religious tourism projects at a one-day conference in March.
An expert in religious tourism and a university historian will be on hand at the conference, organised by Churches Tourism Network Wales at Dyffryn House, St Nicholas, in the Vale of Glamorgan on March 4.
Dr Kevin Griffin of the Dublin Institute of Technology and head of the Religious Tourism Unit of the Worldwide Higher education organisation ATLAS will talk to those who already have a religious tourism project in place or one in the planning stage. Dr Madeleine Gray, reader in History from the University of Wales, Newport, will discuss how all churches can help those looking for evidence of their ancestry. Officers from the Welsh Assembly Government will also be available to offer advice.
Tickets for the conference cost £30 (£25 if you register by Jan 29). For more information or to register, email John Winton at [email protected] or phone 02920 4171926
