Business owners from across Caerphilly county borough have starred in a new video encouraging shoppers to shop locally.
Traders from Bargoed, Blackwood, Caerphilly, Risca and Ystrad Mynach have joined forces for the new video telling residents and visitors why they should ‘Choose the High Street’.
The video forms part of a new ‘Choose the High Street’ campaign, launched by Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Town Centre Management Team this week, highlighting the distinct qualities that make the county borough’s town centres such vibrant places for shoppers to visit.
The short film gives traders a voice to tell viewers the ways in which independent traders go the extra mile for their customers, and why shopping on the high street supports the local economy and creates jobs in the local community.
The new ‘Choose the High Street’ video can be found on the council’s CCBCTV YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxoTTio84bA&feature=youtu.be.
Cllr Ken James, Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Planning & Sustainable Development, said: “The real strength of this video supporting the ‘Choose the High Street’ campaign is that it gives the traders a platform to promote their work and encourage more people to shop locally. I’m pleased that the council is embracing digital media in its quest to help highlight the fantastic offering available in our town centres.”
