Over recent months Denbighshire County Council has become aware of an increasing number of instances of contravention of the traffic and parking restrictions which are in force on the Crown Square Pedestrian Zone in Denbigh town centre.
These contraventions are detrimental to the purpose and effectiveness of the Pedestrian Zone in providing for the free and safe movement of pedestrians in this part of the town centre.
In order to address the issue both the Council and North Wales Police are intending to increase their current levels of enforcement of the restrictions in the Pedestrian Zone with effect from Monday 25 November 2013.
Motorists are therefore reminded that it is an offence for a vehicle to enter or remain in the Pedestrian Zone between the hours of 10 am and 4 pm. In addition it is also an offence for any vehicle to wait in the Pedestrian Zone at any time, other than for the purposes of legitimate loading and unloading, which effectively is only permitted before 10 am and after 4 pm.
