The transformation of Acton Community Centre is drawing ever closer for local residents after official planning approval was granted earlier this year.
The plans give the go ahead for community building improvements alongside an extension to the current structure to provide an ideal space for local groups to utilise. The centre, which is located on Overton Way in the centre of Acton already plays host to a number of popular community groups.
A re-location plan has been put in place by Wrexham Council for the groups who frequently use Acton Community Centre which will see them move to other suitable community facilities in Wrexham between April and June this year.
Acton Community Centre Management Committee would like to thank its regular visitors and local residents for their support during the process of relocation and remind voters that the centre will still act as a polling station for local elections on 3rd May 2012.
The Citizens Advice Bureau who previously held outreach sessions at the facility have already relocated to nearby Borras Park Community Centre with meetings now every Friday between 9.30am-12.30pm.
The Acton Community Centre refurbishment project is due to be completed in Spring 2013.
