Tredegar House to star on TV

Newport’s Tredegar House is set to star on TV this spring after film crews visited the house recently.

The Dr Who film crew are regulars at the house having filmed on nine different occasions while the programme, Being Human, was filmed for the first time at the house at the end of last year.

The Hairy Bikers duo filmed both inside and outside the house for an episode on posh food which will be broadcast on Thursday 24 March at 8pm on BBC 2.

Tredegar House also features in 100 Lle (100 places) broadcast on S4C. The series is based on the book, ‘Cymru, y 100 lle i’w gweld cyn marw’ (Wales, the 100 places to see before dying) – and Tredegar House is considered a must see.

Tredegar House has a range of rooms, from lavish dining rooms to huge kitchens, from servants bedrooms to cellars, attics and Bell’s Corridor – there is plenty on offer to visit.

There are lots of events planned at Tredegar House over the next few months with Murder Mysteries and St David’s Day and Spooky Tales tours. The house will open for tours in April while the 90 acres of parkland are open all year for visitors to enjoy.
