Tribute to Drowned Cardiff Teenager

A tribute was unveiled yesterday (Saturday) to a teenager who was found dead in the River Taff last year.

The family of Bryn Warren were joined by Fairwater Plaid councillors Lisa Ford, Neil McEvoy and Keith Parry for the unveiling of a plaque in the skateboard park at Fairwater Leisure Centre.

Bryn, 19, of Gorse Place, Fairwater, disappeared after leaving Cardiff’s Metro club in Bakers Row after a night out with friends in August last year, sparking a massive search.

His body was found a few days later in the River Taff at Fitzhamon Embankment opposite Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium.

Councillor Lisa Ford said: “Bryn’s death shocked the whole community and many tributes were paid to him at the time.

“Bryn was a keen skateboarder so his family felt it was appropriate to place the plaque at the skate park in Fairwater.

“A volunteer IT consultant Gareth Grieves kindly offered to make the plaque and Bryn’s parents have been invited to attend the unveiling,” added Councillor Ford.
