Caerphilly county borough residents are being encouraged to join together with thousands of adults right across the country, and ‘try something new’ as part of Adult Learners Week.
Adult Learners Week will run from 14th-21st May, and as part of this, Caerphilly county borough is holding a ‘learning festival’, offering a wide variety of FREE learning events and taster sessions across the county borough.
From learning how to make your own jewellery through to tracing your past through a family tree, the learning festival offers something for everyone, at numerous locations across the borough.
Founded and co-ordinated by the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE), Adult Learners Week aims to promote the benefits of all kinds of learning, whether it is for fun or leading to a qualification.
During Adult Learners Week 2010, an estimated 100,000 adults across the UK participated in over 4,000 learning events. In a survey of participants, 57% of the people took part in an activity enrolled on, or applied for a course as a result of getting involved.
