Tyre amnesty in Pembrokeshire

A tyre amnesty is being held in Pembrokeshire between Monday 24th  and Friday 28th May.

Pembrokeshire residents can dispose of their unwanted tyres, free of charge, at different locations across the County throughout the week.

The tyre amnesty is a joint venture by Pembrokeshire County Council and Keep Wales Tidy, funded by the Welsh Assembly Government as part of the Tidy Towns Initiative.

The Tidy Towns initiative supports action by local authorities to improve the quality of their local environment through community action.

The aim is to encourage people in Wales to enjoy and take pride in the cities, towns and villages which they live by helping and supporting keeping their area where they live clean and tidy.

“Over the past two years numerous schools and community groups have taken part in projects improving their area by undertaking litter picks, transforming unsightly areas into areas of natural beauty, as well as many other projects,” said Councillor Ken Rowlands, Cabinet Member for Environmental and Regulatory Services.

“The tyre amnesty is another way to improve our County, as it provides an opportunity for householders in Pembrokeshire to dispose of their unwanted tyres free of charge.”

The amnesty is open to all residents in Pembrokeshire, and proof of residency will be required when disposing of tyres at the one of the named sites below.

A recent domestic utilities bill or valid driving licence will be accepted as proof of residency.

Please note that tyres will not be accepted from commercial sources and the number of tyres are restricted to 12 tyres per household.  Tyres larger than a 4×4 vehicle will not be accepted.
