South Wales Police is investigating the unexplained death of a man in Mountain Ash and appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Michael Hayes, 60 years old, was found collapsed in Jeffrey Street, Mountain Ash, and police were made aware at around 5am on Thursday 29 April 2010.
Mr Hayes was taken to Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr Tydfil, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances of the death which is being treated as unexplained at this stage.
South Wales Police Detective Superintendent Paul Burke said,
“Yesterday, we appealed through the media for two people to come forward so that we can eliminate them from our enquiries. This has been done now and we are grateful for those people coming forward.
“We are now appealing for other people to contact us, to help us with our enquiries. We know that he was drinking with friends in The Harp pub in Mountain Ash on the night that he died and we ask that they contact us.
“The death is still being treated as unexplained at this stage and investigations are ongoing.
