Commenting on wind damage to the new University of Wales, Newport building on Usk Way in the city, South Wales East AM William Graham said:
“The damage caused to the roof of the new building is extremely concerning.
“The University of Wales needs to examine the reasons behind today’s events and work with the construction company to make sure this cannot happen again.
“All efforts should now be made to ensure the costs of repair work do not fall upon the taxpayer, and that studies are not unduly interrupted.
“While I understand the frustrations of travellers affected by disruption in the city, safety must obviously remain the top priority as repair work continues.”
