North Wales Police are still following up leads from members of the public on the murder of Ffion Wyn Roberts after the appeal on BBC TV’s Crimewatch last week.
Police appealed for information on the programme and showed photographs of a pair of joggers and a trainer which were found near a sluice gate a short distance from where the body was found.
The make of the trainer was Ascot and the blue tracksuit bottoms were extra large, had two white stripes down the side and a faded tag inside saying original and police are anxious to speak to anyone who recognises either of them.
Insp Neil McAdam, who appeared on the programme, said that there had been a positive response immediately following the TV appeal.
Det Super Peter Chalinor, who is heading the investigation, said that in response to the Crimewatch programme they had received a number of calls from members of the public and they were following them up.
He said: “We are working very closely with Crimewatch on this matter and plan to hold a reconstruction scheduled for broadcast next month.”
