Update: Robbery in Prestatyn

Police are today continuing to appeal for information following a robbery at the Aldi store in Prestatyn.

At around 7.41pm on Tuesday, January 11, police were notified of the incident during which two offenders entered the store on Meliden Road. One of the offenders remained by the doors to the store while the other approached a cashier. As the cashier opened the till, the offender pushed the staff member and took a quantity of cash. Both offenders have then fled. No weapons have been used. The store was open at the time and no one was injured during the incident.

Both of the offenders were described as wearing dark clothing and had their faces covered. The first offender is described as between 5ft 8 and 5ft 10 tall and of slim build. He was described as wearing dark clothing with his hood up. The second male is also described as being of slim build and was believed to have been wearing a hooded top.

Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the offenders before the offence in the area of the alleyway leading from Rhodfa Rhedyn/Fern Avenue onto Meliden Road, Prestatyn at about 7.30pm to 7.40pm. It is known that the offenders have used the same route on leaving the store after the offence. Officers investigation are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw any persons acting suspiciously in the vicinity of the Aldi store between 7.30pm and 7.45pm.

Police are appealing for information and witnesses to the incident.
