Environmental volunteers of all ages came together for a big clean-up around Deighton Primary School in Tredegar – the first of a series of events in Blaenau Gwent.
Community groups and schoolchildren helped out as part of Keep Wales Tidy’s Valleys Spring Clean 2010. Council staff also got to work cutting back brambles and gorse.
The end result was a cleaner and safer playing field for local people to enjoy.
The Council wants everyone to work together to carry on the clean-up all year round. We are encouraging people to organise a clean up in their community – with some help from us.
They can provide advice and equipment and will arrange to pick up your bags of litter or recycling afterwards. To find out more contact Lindsay Sims on 01495 355919 or e-mail [email protected]
