The Wales men’s Under 19 team had a great 6-0 win over Moldova in Tbilisi, Georgia this morning in their final Group 11 UEFA qualifying match.
The result, and Holland losing 2-1 to hosts Georgia means that Wales qualifies for the Elite Round in the spring of next year.
Wales went-in to the match need ing a seven goal swing to overhaul Holland (assuming that Holland did not win or draw their last game).
So, the all-important sixth goal for Wales came with one minute left from substitute Chike Kandi (Chelsea).
Wales cored at regular intervals during the match (Stats sheet attached) and the hosts did us a favour by beating group favourites Holland by 2-1.
Earlier in the group Wales had lost 5-1 to Georgia in the opening game but then battled to a 0-0 draw with Holland.
The UEFA qualifying groups are hosted by one country out of the four and played as a mini-tournament with the top two sides going through.
