Scottish singer and Winner of Britain’s Got Talent Jai McDowall lit up the stage on Sunday at the hugely popular Christmas Pops event, and was treated to a very warm welcome on his very first visit to Wales!
More than 800 people attended the event in St Thomas’s Church, Rhyl to hear the singing sensation perform several tracks off his debut album ‘Believe’ which is released in the UK on December 12th to coincide with his performance at this year’s Royal Variety Performance.
The hugely talented artist was given a standing ovation at the end of his ‘set’ after he’d stunned the audience with his vocal skills with his rendition of ‘Anthem’ the song he performed at his first audition for Britain’s Got Talent.
The event organised by Denbighshire’s Leisure Services and supported by Rhyl Town Council raised over £500 for local disadvantaged Children at Christmas.
Welsh-born, Lucy Kelly, Comedy Ventriloquist, John Kimmons, female vocalist Lyndsey Kearns, local performer, Matthew Roberts and th school choir from Ysgol Emmanuel, Rhyl. all gave unforgettable performances.
Sian Davies County Events Manager said: “ The show was simply amazing and Jai proved why he was the worthy winner of Britain’s Got Talent 2011.
“The supporting artist all gave incredible performances and once again the pupils of Ysgol Emmanuel had the entire audience rockin’ in the aisles with their festive tunes.
“A huge thank you goes out to Cannon John Glover for the use of St Thomas’s Church and to all involved with the event including the many volunteers who gave their time to fund raise for such a worthy cause.”
