Warning of icy conditions

North Wales Police are urging people to travel with care this morning, following a warning that icy conditions will affect the majority of region’s roads.

Commuters are being advised not to travel unless it’s absolutely essential as the routes will remain treacherous during the day.

A severe weather warning of icy roads has been issued by the Met Office and officers are urging people not to venture out unnecessarily as drivers are expected to face atrocious conditions.

North Wales Police, the Welsh Ambulance Service and the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service are working together and are prioritising and responding to calls. All three services have experienced a significant increase in the number of calls today.

If you need to venture outdoors the advice is to stick to the main routes and allow extra time for your journey.

Drivers are advised to tune in to their local radio station in the morning for any updates regarding issues affecting the routes, and people are also being advised to contact the Traffic Wales hotline on 0845 602 6020.
