Cardiff Trading Standards is warning residents to be aware of unsolicited telephone calls from companies claiming that they are calling regarding the installation of ‘Government Funded’ energy efficiency measures.
Concerns have been raised about misleading practices adopted by companies contacting people (particularly vulnerable households) unexpectedly over the phone, offering home energy efficiency measures. The impression given by some of these companies is that they are government funded but this may not be the case.
Any legitimate Wales Assembly Government (WAG) funded support is not allowed to be conducted using cold calling techniques and the Home Energy Efficiency Service administered by EAGA will give advice and help to anyone seeking information about how to improve the energy efficiency of their home.
