Prosiect Gwyrdd is continuing to provide information roadshows in local authorities, to continue to raise awareness on the need to deliver waste infrastructure to treat ‘residual waste’, after recycling and composting has been maximised in each area.
Following the advert in the European Journal in November 2009, there has been a great deal of interest from the market place and eight companies have been invited to submit ‘outline solutions’ to the partnership.
The information roadshows provide the opportunity for members of the public to learn about the project, the technologies that may be available in the market place to treat ‘residual waste’, with staff on hand to answer questions from the public.
The roadshows will take place between 10am and 4pm on the following dates and areas.
August 24: Queen Street, Cardiff City Centre.
August 26: Outside the Pier, Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan.
September 2: Cattle Market car park – Bottom of Mono Street, Monmouth.
September 4:Twyn car park, Caerphilly Town Centre.
September 7: John Frost Square – Newport City Centre.
Cllr Mark Stephens, Chair of the Joint Committee governing the Project, said: “Since the beginning of this project, roadshows have been held in the partnership area to introduce the project and provide the expertise to answer questions from the public. These roadshows will continue, as the procurement develops with further events planned later in the year. For all up to date information on this project, visit www.prosiectgwyrdd.co.uk.”
